PT
Cruiser Rally Myrtle Beach, SC - 2003
Our
first but certainly not our last PT Cruiser Rally and
Show. What an incredible event! I've said Dee
"forced" me to attend but in the end I was glad
I went. We had seen many of PT Cruisers online over
the months but it was a whole different experience seeing
them "live" and with attitude. It was even
nicer to meet their owners. IT WAS GREAT! Sad to
say, my PT compared to all of these beauties looks like
shit but we were happy to be a part of the event.
We,
Dee, the kids, Humberto (our best friend and brother) and
I stayed at the The
Palace
Resort.
We
ate a wonderful dinner the first night at Pizza Roma ran
by a Greek family with a Greek/Italian atmosphere - and
the food was good! (also on Kings Hwy). Then
Saturday night all PT Cruiser owners and families had an
award dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Even Humberto got a
nice Hard Rock Cafe jacket as a prize though he doesn't
own a PT, yet, but has ours available to him if he
wishes :) Played mini-golf at MT. ATLANTICUS on Kings Hwy.
Overall
we had a great ole' time. Watched "2 Fast 2
Furious" and "Matrix Reloaded" on dvd
through a modified hookup to an old-timer TV at the hotel
with our son's Playstation2. Dee and our daughter walked
on the beach, picked up cool shells and just relaxed!
The
next rally is going to be at Daytona Beach in May 2004,
with permission to get the PTs tracked on the Daytona race
track. There will also be a ride "on" the
beach! Considering how many women won awards this rally,
Dee has thought she might have to go back to full-time
work so she can get her own PT to mess around with! Well,
she hasn't gone back to work full-time but she got Hers!
Too cool!
There
are so many more pictures that we took from the event, but
where does one stop. Every car had a feature worth putting
on the web but we had to make some kind of choice of
pictures to post.
