4th of July 2003 weekend at Cape Hatteras

Wow, that was the best display of illegal fireworks I've ever seen in my entire life!!  Shown above is one of many fired off by some young men standing less than 10 yards from us.  The whole affair lasted for hours!  Up and down the beach people had their bonfires going and the weather was great!!

This was the beach house we were invited to stay in and the wonderful early morning views we had from the deck!

We took a side trip to the Manteo, NC aquarium.

We saw one of the strangest, though beautiful, fish I've ever seen!  I'm calling it a dragon fly fish but I don't really know it's real name - they didn't have a plaque describing them.  The one in the center has its "wings" open while the one on the left has them closed.

Here we are enjoying a bit of shade on the sound!

And then we got a "must see" treat!!  As we sat at Bojangles on the way home, a pizza delivery person came in asking, "who ordered the pizza?"  lol  As it turned out, it was someone from the Bojangles staff!
